Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. PDF123 keeps its use of cookies deliberately minimal - here is everything we set, and why.

Cookies we set

• portal_locale (functional, first-party) - remembers your chosen display language so every page loads in it, instead of defaulting back to English. Lasts up to a year, or until you change languages again.
• next-auth session cookie (essential, first-party) - only set if sign-in is enabled and you choose to sign in; keeps you logged in between visits. It is encrypted and never contains your password.

Third-party cookies

This site is supported by Google AdSense, which may set its own cookies to serve and measure ads, including some used for personalized advertising. We don't control these cookies directly - see Google's own cookie policy for details, and adssettings.google.com to opt out of personalized ads.

If you sign in with Google or GitHub, those providers may also set their own cookies during the sign-in flow, governed by their respective policies.

EEA/UK/Switzerland visitors: a Google-certified CMP (AdSense Privacy & messaging or another IAB TCF-integrated CMP) must collect consent before personalized ads. The site layout reserves a slot for that CMP script; until it is live from the AdSense account, ad requests default to non-personalized where we control them. This interim default is not itself a certified CMP.

Managing cookies

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking the portal_locale cookie just means the site can't remember your language choice between visits; blocking the session cookie means you'll be signed out. PDF tools themselves don't require any cookies to work.
