These terms govern your use of PDF123 (the "Service"). By uploading a file or otherwise using the Service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

The Service

PDF123 provides free, browser-based tools to merge, split, compress, convert, sign, and otherwise manipulate PDF and related document files. Most tools work without an account.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Upload or process content that is illegal, infringing, or that you don't have the right to process.
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or circumvent rate limits or access controls on the Service.
  • Reverse engineer the Service to resell it as your own hosted product in a way that violates the underlying open-source license.
  • Use the Service to distribute malware or otherwise cause harm to others.

We may suspend or block access for use that violates these terms.

Your files

You retain all rights to the files you upload. As described in our Privacy Policy, files are processed transiently and are not retained by us after your request completes. You are responsible for keeping your own copies - we are not a backup or storage service, and we are not liable for any loss of data you fail to retain a copy of yourself.

No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or that results (e.g. OCR, format conversion, compression) will always be perfect or lossless. Always verify important output before relying on it.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PDF123 and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service, including loss of data or files.

Third-party services

Optional sign-in uses third-party identity providers (Google, and optionally GitHub), and the site is supported by Google AdSense. Your use of those integrations is also subject to that provider's own terms.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time; the date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
