Privacy Policy

PDF123 lets you merge, split, compress, convert, and edit PDFs in your browser without creating an account. This page explains what happens to your files and what, if any, personal data we collect while you do that.

The files you upload

• Each file you upload is processed in memory or in a temporary working directory on our server, used only to run the tool you selected, and deleted immediately afterwards - normally within seconds of the response being sent.
• We don't keep a copy, back it up, inspect its contents, or use it for anything else (training, analytics, or otherwise).
• Files never touch a database - the service is stateless by design.
• If you use a tool that talks to a third party you explicitly configure (e.g. a webhook or an external label/DLP connector), the data you choose to send there is governed by that third party's own policy, not this one.

Account data, if you ever sign in

Sign-in is optional and every tool already works anonymously. If sign-in is enabled and you choose to use it, we receive your email address and name from the identity provider you pick (currently Google, and optionally GitHub). We use that solely to find or create your account and issue an API key - we never see or store your provider password.

We use a small number of cookies to make the site work - see the Cookie Policy for the full list and how to control them.

Advertising

This site is supported by Google AdSense, which may set its own cookies and use information about your visits here and other sites to show ads it judges relevant. We don't control what AdSense collects; you can review and adjust your ad personalization settings at adssettings.google.com.

For visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, Google's EU User Consent Policy requires a Google-certified consent management platform (CMP) integrated with the IAB Europe TCF before personalized ads. We reserve a CMP script insertion point in the site layout for the AdSense Privacy & messaging (or equivalent certified) snippet. Until that account-level message is published and __tcfapi is present, the site defaults ad requests toward non-personalized ads where we control the request path.

Server logs

Like most web services, our servers keep standard operational logs (timestamps, IP address, requested URL, response status) to run the service reliably, debug problems, and prevent abuse. We don't use these logs to build advertising profiles.

Children's privacy

PDF123 is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
