Add Stamp places one line of text, such as APPROVED, a company name or a date, at the same spot on every page, like a rubber stamp. The text is drawn in Helvetica, so Latin characters only.

Add Stamp places one line of text, such as APPROVED, a company name or a date, at the same spot on every page, like a rubber stamp.

Pick one of nine positions, the font size, angle and color. The text is drawn in Helvetica, so it supports Latin letters, digits and punctuation; text with characters outside that set, such as Chinese or Arabic, is rejected with an error that names them. The text starts at the chosen anchor and reads left to right, so the right-hand positions can push it past the page edge.

Password-protected files are unlocked for you on this page once you enter the password; API callers run Unlock first.

For a repeating pattern across the whole page, use Watermark. To stamp a logo or image, use Add Image.

How do I add a text stamp to a PDF?

  1. Upload a PDF.
  2. Enter the stamp text and choose the position, size, angle and color.
  3. Click Process and download the stamped PDF.
  4. Check a page corner to confirm the placement.

Limits and edge cases

  • Text only, in Helvetica (Latin characters); other scripts are rejected
  • The chosen position is where the text starts, not its center or right edge
  • Applies to every page
  • No transparency
  • Upload limit on this website: 500 MB per file, sent in chunks above about 95 MB. A single direct API request body is capped at 100 MB.

Privacy for this tool

Frequently asked questions

Can I stamp only the first page?
No. The stamp is added to every page.
Can I make the stamp semi-transparent?
Not yet: the text is drawn fully opaque. A light color such as light gray keeps it unobtrusive.
Can I stamp an image?
Not with this tool. Use Add Image to place a picture or logo.
