PDF to Presentation imports a PDF into LibreOffice Impress and returns a PPTX, PPT or ODP file. Treat it as a draft: fonts may be substituted and objects approximated, so proof it before presenting.

PDF to Presentation sends the file through LibreOffice Impress (`impress_pdf_import`) and returns `pptx`, `ppt`, or `odp`. The portal default is `pptx`. Anything outside those three `outputFormat` values is rejected.

Impress imports PDF pages as a deck-shaped Office file. It is not a redesign of your slides, not a one-page-one-master rebuild, and not OCR. Image-only scans become pictures on slides.

Expect broken animations (there were none in the PDF), substituted fonts, and objects that Impress guessed as shapes or images. Proof the deck before you present it.

Password-protected files are unlocked for you on this page once you enter the password; API callers run Unlock first. OCR Markdown cannot be sent here.

How do I convert a PDF to PowerPoint?

  1. Upload a PDF. Scans will import as images on slides.
  2. Keep PPTX or choose PPT / ODP.
  3. Click Process and download the Office file.
  4. Open it in PowerPoint or LibreOffice Impress and check each slide.

Limits and edge cases

  • Not a faithful slide reconstruction
  • Not OCR
  • Password-protected files need the password; API callers run Unlock first
  • Upload limit on this website: 500 MB per file, sent in chunks above about 95 MB. A single direct API request body is capped at 100 MB.

Frequently asked questions

Will each PDF page become a slide?
Usually Impress maps pages into a deck, but layout is a guess. Do not assume masters, notes, or transitions survive.
Can I edit text on the slides?
When the PDF had real text, some runs stay editable. Many pages import as images or grouped drawing objects.
Does this OCR a scan into bullet points?
No. Use OCR to Markdown if you need the words, then build slides yourself.
Why did conversion fail?
soffice rejected the file, the format was not ppt/pptx/odp, or the PDF is encrypted. Enter its password when the page asks; API callers run Unlock first.
