Convert Images to PDF

Images to PDF puts each uploaded PNG, JPEG, GIF or BMP image on its own page and returns one PDF, in upload order. Page size follows the image size.

Images to PDF embeds each uploaded raster as its own page with `pdfio::embed_image_page`. One PNG is enough. Several files become several pages in upload order. The output is a PDF named after the first file.

The form has no options, and the API fields `fitOption`, `colorType` and `autoRotate` are not read. Each page takes the size of its image (1 pixel = 1 point); aspect ratio, greyscale and auto-rotate do not change the embed. Transparency is flattened: images are converted to RGB and the alpha channel is dropped.

Accepted types on this page are PNG, JPEG, GIF, and BMP. SVG is a different converter (`/api/v1/convert/svg/pdf`) and is not this path. A file that is not a decodable raster fails.

This is not OCR and not a print-to-PDF driver. Text in a screenshot stays pixels. If you need selectable text, use a text-to-PDF tool or OCR to Markdown instead.

How do I convert images to a PDF?

  1. Add one or more PNG, JPEG, GIF, or BMP files. Order is page order.
  2. There are no options; each page takes the size of its image.
  3. Click Process and download the PDF.
  4. Open it and check page count against the number of images.

Limits and edge cases

  • No fit-to-page, greyscale, or auto-rotate
  • Transparent areas lose their alpha channel
  • Not OCR; screenshots stay images
  • SVG is a different endpoint
  • Upload limit on this website: 500 MB per file, sent in chunks above about 95 MB. A single direct API request body is capped at 100 MB.

Privacy for this tool

Files are uploaded over HTTPS, processed in memory or a short-lived temporary directory on our servers, and deleted when your result is ready. We do not keep copies for later browsing, training, or advertising profiles. See the Privacy Policy for retention details and AdSense cookie disclosures.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need two images?
No. One image produces a one-page PDF. Two or more append in upload order.
Can I convert to greyscale or fit the image to A4?
No. The server embeds the pixels as decoded, on a page the size of the image.
Can I send SVG here?
Not on this endpoint. SVG goes through a WeasyPrint path at convert/svg/pdf.
Will EXIF rotation be applied?
autoRotate is ignored. Orientation is whatever the image decoder yields.
