Turn PNG Images Into a PDF

PNG to PDF puts each uploaded PNG on its own page and returns one PDF in upload order. Each page takes the size of its image, and transparency is flattened to RGB.

Drag and drop files here, or click to choose

Accepts PNG · up to 500.0 MB per file

You can also paste a file with Ctrl/Cmd+V, or from the clipboard menu.

PNG to PDF embeds each uploaded .png file as its own page. One image is enough; several become several pages in upload order, and the download is named after the first file.

The page takes the size of the image, one pixel to one point. Transparency is flattened: images are converted to RGB and the alpha channel is dropped, so see-through areas do not stay transparent. The form has no options for fit-to-page, greyscale or rotation.

A screenshot stays pixels. This is not OCR, so text in the image is not selectable in the PDF. If you need the words, OCR reads a scanned PDF and returns Markdown.

Each PNG is decoded and stored as raw RGB pixels with lossless compression, so a large PNG makes a large PDF. In a test, an 800 by 600 PNG, a 600 by 800 JPEG and a 400 by 400 PNG with a semi-transparent circle together came out as a three-page PDF of 11,407 bytes, so small flat images stay small. A file that is not a decodable image fails the whole request.

Features

  • One PNG per page, in upload order
  • Each page takes its image's pixel size; alpha is dropped
  • Output named after the first file
  • Anonymous API at /api/v1/convert/img/pdf

When to use this tool

  • Combine screenshots into one PDF for a bug report
  • Turn an exported chart or diagram into a PDF page
  • Bundle scanned pages saved as PNG into a single document

How do I convert PNG images to a PDF?

  1. Add one or more .png files. Their order is the page order.
  2. Click Process and download the PDF.
  3. Open it and check the page count against your number of images.
  4. If you need selectable text, run the result through OCR instead of relying on the pixels.

Limits and edge cases

  • Only .png on this page
  • Transparency is flattened
  • Not OCR; text in images is not selectable
  • No fit-to-page, greyscale or auto-rotate
  • One undecodable file fails the whole batch

Privacy for this tool

Files are uploaded over HTTPS, processed in memory or a short-lived temporary directory on our servers, and deleted when your result is ready. We do not keep copies for later browsing, training, or advertising profiles. See the Privacy Policy for retention details and AdSense cookie disclosures.

Frequently asked questions

Does the PDF keep PNG transparency?
No. Images are converted to RGB and the alpha channel is dropped, so transparent areas are flattened.
Will text in my screenshot be selectable?
No. It stays pixels. This is not OCR.
Can I make every page A4?
No. Each page takes the size of its image and there is no fit-to-page option.
Why is the PDF larger than my PNG?
The converter re-stores the pixels as raw RGB with lossless compression, which can be larger than a well-optimised PNG, especially for photos.
What if one file is not an image?
The request fails with HTTP 400 and no PDF is returned. Remove that file and run the batch again.
