Edit PDF Files Online
Edit tools change what is on the pages of a PDF: edit existing text, fill in form fields, add a signature, a watermark, a stamp or an image, crop pages, flatten annotations, recolor, extract images or change the document's metadata.
Edit PDF, Fill PDF Form and Sign PDF run in your browser, so the file is never uploaded. The other tools process the file on our servers and delete it when the result is ready.
- Compress PDFCompress PDF makes a PDF smaller by recompressing its internal data and re-encoding page images as JPEG at a capped size. Add an optional target size in MB and it tries stronger levels until the file fits; the target is a goal, not a guarantee.
- Linearize PDFLinearize PDF rewrites a file in the linearized layout, also called Fast Web View, so a viewer can show the first page before the whole file has downloaded. It usually makes the file slightly larger, not smaller.
- Repair PDFRepair PDF rewrites a damaged PDF with qpdf, rebuilding its cross-reference table so the file can open again. It recovers what qpdf can still read; it cannot bring back missing images or destroyed data.
- Edit PDFEdit PDF changes the text of an existing PDF in your browser. Click a line, type the replacement and download the file. Nothing is uploaded or converted, and scanned pages need OCR first.
- Flatten PDFFlatten PDF turns annotations and form-field appearances into fixed page content with qpdf, so they can no longer be edited. It is not rasterization: text that was already page content stays selectable.
- Edit PDF MetadataEdit Metadata writes a new title and author into a PDF's document information dictionary and returns the updated file. A field left empty is left unchanged, and XMP metadata is not rewritten.
- Extract PDF ImagesExtract Images pulls the embedded raster images out of a PDF and delivers them in a ZIP as PNG or JPEG files. Vector drawings and page text are not images and are not included.
- Fill PDF FormFill PDF Form lets you type into the text fields, checkboxes, radio buttons and drop-downs of a fillable PDF in your browser and download the filled file. The PDF is never uploaded.
- Sign PDFSign PDF adds an image of your signature to any page of a PDF in your browser. You draw, type or upload it, then place and resize it. It is a visible signature, not a certificate-based one.
- Remove Images from PDFRemove Image deletes every raster image from a PDF, including images inside forms and inline images, and keeps text, vector graphics and page sizes. Scans with no text layer come out blank.
- Auto Rename PDFAuto Rename returns your PDF unchanged. On the website the download keeps its original name; through the API, useFirstTextAsFallback=true names it after the first word of its text, up to 60 characters.
- Invert PDF ColorsReplace and Invert Colors recolors a PDF by full inversion, a high-contrast pair such as white on black, one custom color, or greyscale. Text stays selectable because color operators are edited, not pages rasterized.
- Add Image to PDFAdd Image places a PNG, JPEG or SVG picture on a PDF at the x and y position you give, in points from the lower-left corner. It stamps the first page only unless you choose every page.
- Add PDF AttachmentsAdd Attachments embeds one or more files inside a PDF as attachments that viewers list in their attachments panel. It only adds files, and does not convert the PDF to PDF/A-3.
- Crop PDFCrop PDF sets the visible page area of every page to a rectangle you define by x, y, width and height in points. Content outside the box stays in the file, so cropping neither shrinks the file nor redacts.
- Extract Image ScansExtract Image Scans finds each photo or document lying on a scanned PDF page, straightens it if tilted, and saves it as its own PNG. Several results come back as a ZIP; nothing found returns no file.
- Decompress PDFDecompress PDF expands a PDF's compressed streams into readable QDF form with qpdf, so you can inspect or hand-edit the file. The result is usually larger and is not an archive extractor.
