Delete Pages From a PDF

Remove Pages deletes the pages you list, such as 2,5-7, from a PDF and keeps the rest in their original order. The result downloads as a new PDF; your original file is not changed.

Drag and drop a file here, or click to choose

Accepts PDF · up to 500.0 MB per file

You can also paste a file with Ctrl/Cmd+V, or from the clipboard menu.

Remove Pages deletes the 1-based indexes in `pageNumbers` and copies the rest with qpdf. Ranges, `all` and comma lists are accepted. Every page number you list must exist: a page past the last one is rejected with an error, and a range end past the last page is clipped.

An empty list returns the original PDF. Listing every page is rejected, because a PDF with no pages cannot be returned.

This is a page-object subset, not a redaction of leftover content in the remaining pages. Password-protected files are unlocked for you on this page once you enter the password; API callers run Unlock first.

To keep a contiguous range, use Extract Pages, or list the pages to drop here.

Features

  • qpdf subset of pages that are not in `pageNumbers`
  • Empty removal list returns the original file
  • Removing every page is rejected; at least one page must remain
  • Anonymous API at /api/v1/general/remove-pages

When to use this tool

  • Drop a cover sheet before sending the rest
  • Strip blank separator pages you already identified
  • Keep the middle of a scan by deleting head and tail pages

How do I delete pages from a PDF?

  1. Upload a PDF.
  2. Type 1-based pages or ranges to delete, for example `1,4-5`.
  3. Click Process and download the PDF.
  4. Check the page count; at least one page must remain.

Limits and edge cases

  • Not content redaction
  • Password-protected files need the password; API callers run Unlock first
  • No preview of which pages will remain
  • Upload limit on this website: 500 MB per file, sent in chunks above about 95 MB. A single direct API request body is capped at 100 MB.

Examples

  • On a 5-page file, pageNumbers=1 yields pages 2-5
  • On a 1-page file, pageNumbers=1 is rejected because it would remove every page

Privacy for this tool

Files are uploaded over HTTPS, processed in memory or a short-lived temporary directory on our servers, and deleted when your result is ready. We do not keep copies for later browsing, training, or advertising profiles. See the Privacy Policy for retention details and AdSense cookie disclosures.

Frequently asked questions

Is page numbering 0-based?
No. Use viewer page numbers starting at 1.
What if I remove a page that does not exist?
It is rejected with a page-out-of-range error, so a typo does not silently do nothing.
Does this redact text on kept pages?
No. It only drops page objects. Use Auto Redact if you meant blackout, knowing that tool blacks whole pages.
Can I remove every page?
No. Removing every page is rejected; keep at least one.
