Cut a PDF Into Parts of Five Pages Each
Split PDF Every 5 Pages cuts a PDF into consecutive parts of five pages and returns them in a ZIP. The split type is By page count and the value is preset to 5; the last part holds whatever pages are left.
Drag and drop files here, or click to choose
Accepts PDF · up to 500.0 MB per file · up to 20 files at once
You can also paste a file with Ctrl/Cmd+V, or from the clipboard menu.
Long documents are easier to send, review or upload in equal chunks. This page is set to By page count with a value of 5, so a 10-page file becomes two files of five pages and a 12-page file ends with a shorter last part.
Change the value for any other chunk size. A value of 10 gives parts of ten pages. If you would rather say how many files you want than how many pages each should have, switch the split type to By document count.
Every part is a copy of its pages, so text stays selectable, and the parts download together in one ZIP. Your original file is not changed.

How do I split a PDF every 5 pages?
- Upload the PDF
- Keep By page count and 5, or enter another value
- Click Process and download the ZIP of parts
Limits and edge cases
- The split is by page count, not by file size: parts of 5 pages can differ a lot in size
- The last part holds the remaining pages and can be shorter than the others
- Password-protected files need their password first
Test results and conditions
- Test file: a 10-page PDF generated for this project's test suite, one line of text per page.
- Splitting with By page count and 5 returned a ZIP of 2 files from the 10-page test file.
Privacy for this tool
Files are uploaded over HTTPS, processed in memory or a short-lived temporary directory on our servers, and deleted when your result is ready. We do not keep copies for later browsing, training, or advertising profiles. See the Privacy Policy for retention details and AdSense cookie disclosures.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I split by file size instead of pages?
- No. This tool splits by page count or by number of files. To make a file smaller, use Compress PDF.
- What happens when the page count is not a multiple of 5?
- The last part gets the leftover pages, so a 12-page file gives parts of 5, 5 and 2 pages.
- How do I get exactly three files?
- Switch the split type to By document count and enter 3.
- Are the parts named in order?
- Yes. The ZIP lists them in page order, so the first part holds the first pages.
